A Quiet Fourth, Mostly

I hope everyone had a wonderful 4th yesterday.  I’m sure it was full of barbecues and get-togethers with friends and families, and I can’t think of a better way to spend Independence Day.

We took it easy around here and didn’t go to the annual picnic that our cousins host every year.  It’s the first one we’ve missed since we married, and I hated not to be there.  However, with a one-year-old whose bedtime is 7:00 and a party that starts at the same time, that’s a recipe for messing up the sleeping schedule.  Not a good idea.  Not a good idea AT ALL.

So we stayed home and piddled around.  David decided that our router wasn’t doing its job well enough.  Apparently it was taking longer than 2.4 seconds for him to connect to the internet, and heaven forbid that he should wait that long to check on the latest Big Brother news.

Bless his heart, he spent all day working on it only for it not to connect.  He had to unhook everything and use the old router.  He is a sad man today.  However, I have internet connection again and I am happy, happy, happy.

I put the boys to bed right about the time that the neighbors started setting off fireworks that lasted until almost 11:00.  Luckily, we’d let the boys run themselves silly and they were worn out.  They slept through the fireworks like professional snoozers.

It’s nice to know they take after me in some way.
